Up late, and writin'......

Just finished updating Route 3 website; coming along nicely.

Listening to CNN coverage of health care legislation passage. Heard on the news protestors called gay and black politicians slurs. Even heard a Republican from CA defend the actions on the "free spech" argument. It's been a crazy weekend, and from the looks of things, nothing's going to calm down anytime soon.

Also searching on the "career" front. Just wanting to find something that I enjoy doing, and doesn't drive me crazy. Had a great weekend at Momo Con, and spending Sunday with T. Lovin' life to the fullest. Peace folks.

Milestone Forever !!!!!! **Writing Updates**

Great Dwayne McDuffie interview, and a look back at classic moments Milestone Comics . My personal favorite was Rocket's pregnancy announcement. That issue still stands out for me today.

All in all Milestone gave me what I'd been wanting ever since I'd started reading comics: books that featured well written/ relatable characters of color, great stories, kick ass artwork. I can only hope that Route 3 can come close to the quality work those guys and gals put out on a regular basis.

General updates:

-Route 3: Website is being built, sections updated, artwork inked, script is coming along nicely. Shooting for a June launch for the comic.

-Amber Fox story: Jon's still doing edit's, most recent artist dropped off, but we're still chugging ahead

-Prodigal Q & A: Article will be finished by 3/6/10; hopefully it'll run soon after.

-The Unit: Brian's starting character drawings; adapting book to script.

Stay tuned everyone.

Stuff & such

Just finished up a set of questions for a Ja Dore Magazine article. If this pops off, look forward to seeing a bit more of me on that website. :-)

Enjoying V-Day so far. Happy V-Day to one and all, and enjoy that special someone, or just use the day to chill. Love ya-self (not literally, lol) people.

Movement going on in the "Route 3" realm of things. Meeting with Corey on Wednesday and we'll have a pow-wow on that front. Gonna see if I cobble together some character descriptions for Brian, and see if he can push out some character designs for "The Unit".

Also, had to include this: is Rockstar growing out of it's adolescent stage? I saw first mention of this in Game Informer; definately has a LA Condidential, Chinatown vibe to it. Looking forward to it. Peace.

Terminus Tales #1, It's Here Folks!!!!

The book is finally here, and we are getting some love courtesy of blogger/comic book writer J. R. Lemar .

Check out the interview for Brian Bagley and your truly with Back Page Comics.

Ideas are churning around for about 3-4 more stories, and I'm putting pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard. Dennis gave the go ahead for the Ja'Dore Mag comics' colmn, so i'm getting things rolling on that front.

TAPP fair is coming up, still have to find or order my SAT scores. Say a prayer that things go well with that.

And another thing: if you're looking for quality storytelling, great animation, dialogue that gets me wishing I could craft conversations that great, and great action, check out Spectacular Spiderman Season 1. Great stuff.

Wii Fitness, Year One, & Independence Day (The real one, not that fake Will Smith stuff)

Saw Year One, and just glad to see Harold Ramis kicking butt with the Apatow generation of folks. Though Jack Black and Michael Cera pretty much played themselves it was a really good comedy. Platt, Azaria & Cross were kick ass.

Still haven't seen Robots Kicking Each Others Ass, or Transformers 2, but not really chomping at the bit to see that. Even as a kid the cartoon was always kind of so so, and from what I hear we just got another case of story being tossed to the wayside in the hopes of wowing audiences with great special effects. I kind of like it when story+special effects= $10 well spent (case in point, Iron Man, Hellboy 2, Serenity).

But I guess $200 million plus tells me that folks could give a flying frag about quality storytellin'.

Next on the list, The Hangover, The Hurt Locker, and Public Enemies.

Still trying to get the time off for the Stephenson fam' reunion in August, so keeping my fingers crossed I can get that, and the mulla needed to make the trip.

Job's cutting hours, but I'm not stressed. Just gotta find something else.

Had an article run in ole Ja'Dore . Good stuff.

Just planning for the Ja Dore Comics column idea; it'll help with getting the word out there about creators who folks should be aware of. Also need to find some more paying opps. VOICE is treating me like a stepchild. :-) What would Charlie Brown do?

Scream AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!, but still continue to try to keep kicking that damn football.

Terminus, Terminus, Terminus. What can I say? I'm always greatful that I got this opportunity, I am. but damn, damn, damn, damn James. Sorry I lapsed into my Good Times rant. THIS BOOK HAS TO BE OUT BY THE END OF THE SUMMER. It's getting friggin ridunculous. Seriously. It'll be two years in September, if my memory serves me right.

But as they say, good things come to those who wait, and who just strive for the best. And as I look at my lovely lady kicking butt on Mario Kart, I got's to say it's the truth.

Route 3 & DLG Chronicles (still working on the title) are next.

Happy 4th to anyone who reads this. Think 'bout those folks who crossed the bridge in Selam and marched in Tehran before sinking your teeth into some barbeque drenched burgers. That's what freedom is. Peace.
